Pad Printing in Multiples — 8,000 Parts/Hour on a KP05

A customized KP05 prints eight pieces per stroke. Bowl feeder upstream, infrared drying downstream — high-volume production with minimal operator involvement.

EPS customized a standard KP05 bench-mounted printer to achieve high-volume production of 8,000 pieces per hour with minimal operator involvement. The system uses a bowl feeder to align parts and direct them through the printing process, followed by infrared drying to ensure images are ready for downstream operations.

The technical challenges

  • Being able to efficiently feed the parts to keep up with the printer
  • Custom pads designed to print multiple images simultaneously
  • Processing delicate components without damage
  • Achieving sufficient drying time before further handling

The automated system prints eight pieces per stroke, requiring precise image placement on each part during every cycle.
